My name is Keerit Singh Sra, I’m 19 years old and grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia. I grew up practicing Jiu-Jitsu for almost 7 years and won gold and silver at a few tournaments. I was born with a condition called congential cataracts, which meant that the crystalline lens at the back of my eye was clouded. This happens to a lot of people as they get old in age however it can happen to a few at birth, I’m on of them. Growing up I always stood out since I had glasses with a prescription of +24.00 which caused my eyes to look very big almost like googly eyes. As I got older my prescription kept decreasing and went down to +14.00, at that point I was 17 years old and was old enough to get the IOL surgery done. After getting that surgery my life changed, I could generally see without glasses and my prescription is only -2.00.
